INFORMATION SHEET MEMBERSHIP

The minimum age for membership of the Club is 18. You must have been a member for six months before you can propose or second a prospective new member.

Special opening hours apply to Bank Holiday weekends and are published on the notice board and in the Bulletin. Extensions are granted for some social events.

A copy of the rules is displayed on the notice board.

Snooker, Pool, Darts and Crib
The Club has three full sized snooker tables situated in the lower ground floor and a pool table in the lounge bar. There are various club teams for snooker, pool, crib and darts which play in various leagues. Young persons may use the facilities except for the match table.

Social Events and Activities
Monthly social events are held throughout the year. These include live bands, discos, barbeques, and other events, such as the Members party. In addition members often hold special parties at which Club members are welcome.

Subscriptions
Subscriptions are due on 1st January and must be paid within 28 days otherwise membership lapses and it is necessary to rejoin. Five percent of the subscription is sent as a donation to The Conservative Association.

Suggestions
The Club welcomes constructive suggestions and a book is held in the inner hall for these. Alternatively the Secretary or any Committee member will be pleased to discuss these.

Trips
Trips and holidays are regularly arranged for Club members and guests to take part in.

Affiliation
The club is affiliated to the Association of Conservative Clubs. Cards enabling members to visit any other affiliated clubs are available at the bar and cost £2.50. A directory of these clubs is available and costs £2.50

AGM
The Annual General Meeting takes place towards the end of March when Officers and committee are elected. You must have been a member for at least a year to be able to stand for office.

Bulletin
“The Bulletin” newsletter is published every month giving Club news and details of social events.

Dress code
Members are requested to dress smartly. Details of the Club dress code are posted on the notice board.

Children (under 14) and Young persons (14-17)
Children and young persons may be brought into the Club. Children (under 14) must be under parental control at all times and may use the rear lounge only. They must leave the premises by 8:00pm except on Sundays, Bank Holidays and certain special functions. Young person (14-17) may use the main bars provided that they are supervised and conform to the Club rules, including dress code.

Cricket Week
Each year the Club has a marquee with a bar at Tunbridge Wells Cricket Week. This is usually in June.

Food
Lunches and bar snacks are served on Monday to Saturday between 12 noon and 2pm and from 12.30 - 5.00pm on Sunday.  On Function nights we usually offer a special menu for the evening.  Full details can be found on our Food page.

Guests
Members may bring guests into the Club but they must be signed in. The same guest may not come in more than once in any calendar month. Please note that wives, partners, etc (unless themselves members) count as guests.

Fruit Machines
The Club has two jackpot machines. By law no one under 18 may play these.

Golf Society
The Club has its own golf society “Rocklands” which has a number of meets during the year.
